That IS cool!
Oddly enough, and if all goes as planned, tomorrow I'm picking up a Jag that is being given to me. I have a pal who owns/has owned several Jags. On-and-off over the years I've done a slew of repairs on them and generally helped him keep them on the road.
One of them is a bit tired and he's lost interest in it. It needs help....but it still seems too good to just throw away. Or, that's the story, at least. I haven't even seen the car in a couple years.
Anyhow.....he wants it to "go to a good home" so he's giving it to me.
Cheers

Man!!! This is a whole lot better that seeing those beautiful cars going to the salvage yard. My 95 has a few issues that I'm working on but it is still great to drive and looks wonderful. But I was only quoted $1500.00 as a trade in value when I bought a new economy car for us. So I just kept it and will only drive it locally. Now where could I ever buy a car as great as this one for any where colse to $1500.00?

Agreed on all points.
I have pictures of the car that I am hoping to post tomorrow. It really looks fantastic (I think) and the thought of sending it to a salvage yard seemed wrong, at least giving without it a shot at being a local driver. I had a new stereo and speakers installed. Sounds great. Enjoyed driving it around town today; it even turned a few heads. (I know wasn't me: classic guys don't get the same attention as classic cars. Somehow that seems fair, though.) Take Care.

"Free" Jag
Motorcarman: I hope you are wrong about this one, but I know what you mean. Counting this one, it is our fourth Jaguar. Pretty good luck so far. On this one, if it saves me 10 tanks of gas that I would otherwise have put in my truck, I come out ahead on the gas savings alone. But, no matter how great the car looks, I won't be putting too much money into it.
