Default Ground Wire location

It's been a long time...

I was wondering just where the ground wire would be for the rear turn signals / tail lights. My issue with this has been ongoing for years at this point and what started to affect just the passenger side is now affecting the driver's side as well... I'm on my 2nd light control module, and the third that I briefly put in and took back out, I'm not going to have fry up on me like the last two.

So... The ground wire for the tail lights.... Where would they be?

This may help. I had an intermittent tail light and poking around at the back of the light cluster connection, I vaguely remember finding an earth lug in behind the boot liner on the inside of the fender/wing. Have a look see.

Hi Valium.Skies,

You don't mention the year or model of your car, so I can only guess. It's a good idea to add the year, model and engine displacement of your car to your signature line where you currently have the lyrics from The Verve.

You can download the X300 Electrical Guide for your model year at the appropriate link below. The guide contains schematics that show all of the ground points and component lists that describe where each ground is located. I think you will find that sogood is correct and the ground for the tail lamps is in the trunk. Once you confirm the location, check the illustration of ground points somewhere in the first 30 or so pages of the the Electrical Guide, which will show you what the ground point looks like.

The schematics may also help you identify other possible causes of your issues:
