Default Have you ever spotted your car?

I didn't know where to post this and because I have an XJ6 (X300), you guys are getting it.
What prompted the question was that I was looking at images of XJ6s in Google, trying to find one as nice as mine (and failing, lol) when I saw one that was the spit of mine bar the license plate. That got me wondering if any of you guys, with cars a lot shinier than mine, ever came across pictures of your own cars when shown by a previous owner.
Which begs another question.
Is it an accepted thing to try to contact previous owners of your car?
My car was owned by some chap in the Liverpool area but there are 7 of those names in that area according to Yell.com.
Not to worry.

I haven't seen photos of my car not taken by me (aside from the one in the ad when I bought it) that I know of. In Florida, the plates go with the owner, not the car so I may have seen photos of it, but I wouldn't know. I have however, seen cars exactly like mine in person which to me, is quite a thrill.

When I bought the XJR, I spoke more with the Jaguar enthusiast who had maintained the car for the two previous owners. I do recall asking if I could phone him for any advice regarding the car. He actually race prepared Jags for a living. I never did call him, although he said it would have been ok.
I got the Jaguar Heritage Certificate on the car - you could apply for that if you are interested, it told me the first owner was some company in Oxfordshire IIRC.
When selling a car I give the new owner a folder full of reciepts, spare parts, previous and my own service history and a lovely car at a price both of us should be happy with.
I've never had anyone call me up after buying my car.
I do wonder how my little Triumph GT6 is getting on and from the DVLA website it is still being road taxed.

Steve,

I often do this with my cars, a good starting place for Jags is getting a JDHT certificate
