Default Head Light Brackets

Question for all of those who own X300s- are the headlamp brackets up front made of plastic or metal on your cars?

I'm looking into doing something 'creative' with my headlights perhaps involving doing some fabrication to the head light brackets.

Thanks

The brackets on the X300 and X308 are plastic . There is supposedly a difference in swapping but I didn't pay attention .

To prevent them from breaking during lens removal spray in advance with some penetrate

If you want some broken brackets to play with let me know

Mark your lenses in advance for position with tape including up or you'll get lost

Thanks, I was hoping they weren't made out of plastic like the newer X308s.One of the advantages of owning an older car platform is going back to components that are of older design/built from older processes that more often than not are easier to modify/amend rebuild etc.
I'll have to rely on CAD and 3 d printing then, rather than welding up
I have enough spare headlights/brackets thank you!
