Default headlight help

I have a 97 XJ6 and ever since I bought it used I've noticed that the headlight glass is loose. I can push it back and it seems to stay put but after I drive it I see it's loose again. Because the glass moves my light beam gets directed to either the ground or Im shining light up in the trees. I've read that other models have problems with broken assembly but my car only has the glass lenses loose. Is there a way to fix or should i be looking for new headlights?

thanks for you help

One of my dads high beams does that. Nothing is actually 'broken', just the rubbery glue that sticks the lens to the reflector has surrendered it's grip.

What you'll need to do is remove the headlight in question and disassemble it. Then remove the old glue, clean the contact surfaces thoroughly and re-attach the lens to the reflector using a bead of high temp silicone adhesive or similar.

EDIT: I could document this repair if you don't mind waiting a few days - I just need to get the adhesive...
