Default Headlight problem

Hi,
I have a 1996 Jaguar Sovereign. The right outer headlight doesn't come on. The bulb is fine and so is the fuse so i don't know what to do next.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

Doccy, I would be looking at relay RS47 and checking that. You may want to swap it with say relay LS54. If the problem moves to the left side, then your relay is bad. If it doesn't, then you have either a wiring issue between the body module and the headlight or the body module has failed. If you reach this point, I can give you some troubleshooting ideas. I just need to know your level of comfort using a multimeter.

Default Relay

Dear Thermo

That makes perfect sense. I haven’t got at it yet but will let you know.
Thanks

Thermo, my 2015 headlight has a default code on the headlight. The far right running light (See pic) does not light and is causing a code fault. Can it be changed out? If so, how do I get that small white cap(s) off of it without breaking it? Thanks...

For a 1996 see page 107

The Main beam relay handles both left and right side so the splice between the 2

There is 2 separate relays for the dip beam as left and right

I always get the main and dip beam terminology mixed up

You can place your fingers in the right relay and feel for it clicking closed

It would be easy to have the mounting position of the large relays in the wrong mount position way back , so would have to look at the wire colors to confirm

Fuses involved

Gotta go to dialysis now

Wow, do you have that level of detail for the relays & fuse box for a 2015 XJL?

I am certainly not up to speed on your X351 model but you may open a thread in that section to find from others in your owner group current and unexpired links to your manuals in different venues like a simple PDF or pictures ( vs. online live links for later ) available on earlier models

Scantly scanning around there was major changes in 2013 that may apply and be valid documents from there for your 2015

This is a factory link with you entering your VIN #

Jaguar iGuide Online

Seeing if I can find a pic of your wanted information , researching

Early so far but this pic for 2010

See also Workshop manual for 2015 - options? - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum

And also Fuse Box Diagram Jaguar XJ (X351; 2011-2015)

And this pic for 2016 if it applies
