I currently have my 96 long wheelbase headliner and sunroof out to replace the coverings, and I am also painting (actually repainting again as I wasn't happy with previous attempt) the roof and touching up some uv damage areas, plus the sunroof which is off the car.

I'm assuming my reassembly sequence will be to recover the sunroof and rear slider and install with the sunroof to make sure it all works properly (no binding of the new covering etc) before putting the main headliner back into the car? For the sunroof panels I stretched them tight as I glued them to try and get them down to 3mm thickness.

I rather stupidly wound the sunroof mechanism all the way back to make it easier to mask the hole in the roof for painting, and now it won't do anything when I try to move it forward. With the headliner board out I have more access to the sunroof mechanism, is there a sequence of things to do to get it all working properly again?
