Heating water valve
Does anyone know if this part will fit my car, as only the X308 is listed
https://www.britishparts.co.uk/class...er-valve-p2340
I know this one will, and it also lists the X308.

As ever, any help much appreciated.

The more common thing that goes wrong is the cheap to replace electric pump motor brushes wear out
You can bang on it with a broom handle and jar the brushes loose to get it going again maybe and see if the valve operates before purchasing a valve
you can tap on the valve also
The valve modulates open and closed to maintain your cabin temp selected so you would have to start with a cold cabin
The cabin temp sensor has a history of getting clogged with lint rendering the heater system to not working including the water valve staying closed
Have you run a climate control panel bite test that may flag a code ?
There are also relays and fuses involved

G’day Stu,
As Parker has mentioned there are a few things to look at if you are not getting heating. The heater pump is one, can you feel it running? Are the coolant hoses on the inlet and outlet side both getting warm?
The heater valve is fail safe open, that is powered shut. Unplug it and see if you get hot hoses on both sides? It is a simple solenoid activated valve and maybe blocked or frozen with scale. It is easy to take apart and clean out.
Check both the hoses attached to the heater matrix, they both should be hot if the pump and the valve are working and if not this indicates a clogged matrix which will need to be replaced. Years ago my matrix was clogged and I tried to flush it and descale it but had no joy so I replaced it. If you need a few pointers get back to me.
Cheers and good luck,
Jeff.
