HELP! 96 XJ6 Suspension Issues
I have a customer with a 96 XJ6 with 140k miles on it, and the rear suspension seems clunky and way too soft. I would think it needs new rear springs, but I can't find them anywhere.
The front seems too stiff as well, according to my customer. A Jag tech stuck KYB Gas-A-Just shocks on all four corners, which seems like a bad idea anyways. We're already going to swap out the KYB's for higher end Monroe shocks, but does anyone know where to get NEW springs for an XJ6 that old?

Have you tried a Jag parts specialist for springs? Coventry West, Welsh, Motorcars Ltd., etc?
No matter where you get 'em watch out for semi-generic replacements that give the wrong ride height. If the listing is something like "All XJ6/XJ12 1990-1997", beware!
For the clunks don't forget to check the shock bushings/mounts and suspension bushings. They're prime candidates at that mileage
Cheers

I've moved your question from X305 (the V12) forum to X300 forum for 1995-97 XJ6.
When you get a minute, please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some info about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

And just why would KYB's on all four corners be a "Bad Idea?" I just put them on all four corners of my son's Firebird and have them on all four corners of my TR6. They are most likely going on all four corners of my XJS too. I don't think in for a minuet they are making you're customers front too stiff and rear too soft. I think all the higher end Monroes will get him over the long haul is emptier pockets, sorry, just my $.02
