UPDATE: I have found two other forum posts online with 1995 x300 Jags that had the same issue and fixed it via the ECU (had water damage). I will check that later this week.

Also just wanted to add that if anyone else has this issue make sure your check the wiring along the right trunk support, typically under a black plastic cover. Mine was sat wrong and had been pinching the wires leading to a few being cut and my trunk would work intermittently depending on how the wires sat. Splice them and wire them back up and you're good!
thank you so much. i appreciate the note. we have have checked those wires and they look good. we are now considering the BCM as a possible cause. still not sure. i will update here when we get this fixed. happy new year!
In removing glove box to get to BCM keep careful track of different size / location of panel hardware and the elongated holes position as a pain to get final panel adjustment
The BCM has a large christmas tree insert that holds in place to remove
thank you for the awesome picture! and the great tips. today we finally decided to call the local jaguar dealer (they are highly rated) and they will be sending a mobile unit to our location to try and reset the remote key fob and locking systems. not sure why we did not think of this sooner. maybe the remote just needs to be re-synced to the security system by the dealer? i will keep everyone posted.

You may not get all of the aural chimes as their dedicated speakers may not work now , but can hear them with a analog / needle meter on A / C scale as a needle wiggle
