hesitant at launch
97' xj6, 120k, 4.0L.
I have been having a very hesitant start while taking off from lights, stop signs...etc. Only happens from a take off, and the car some times stalls out, seems to be ok if i slip it into neutral.
I went ahead and cleaned the throttle body, a little build up of grime and grease, but what i did find was a lot of oil in the TB and the entrance to the intake. Any thoughts? I have cleaned the TB in the past (10-15k ago) and have replaced IACV and TBPS.
After i did this i drove it, seems pretty good, although now i am getting a slight miss at idle.
another quick note, a few days before cleaning the TB, i got a catalytic converter efficiency bank 2 code.
appreciate your time and any input,
Reggie

Going out on a limb a tad, coz you have "stuff" on your cars we dont have.
A hesitation at "take off" is generally a lean fuel issue, and that is possibly what caused the O2 light.
I have read on here that when replacing the TPS it requires "orientation" setting by a dealer/indy. So if that was not "in sync" with the ECU, anything is possible. A search here should find what others have done, as some have found a way of by-passing that orientation process??.
If you got a "cat convertor" breaking up/clogging, then that also could cause issues.
Erratic idle on USA market cars is usually related to the EGR system, which we dont have, but cleaning the valve is what I have read is required.

the oil in the intake is affecting the throttle body which is causing the car to be hasitant at launch. I have vaccum at the breather hose.
Is it a PCV/oil separtor issue? and where is that located?
EDIT: so did a little research, they didnt come with a pcv/oil separtor. Any ideas on where i can go from here??
