Hello everyone.

I've read through what I can find on this issue but am still unclear on what's going on. Lately my '02 S Type 3.0 has been hesitating a bit when first shifting into drive, especially when it is warm. I had the 3/4 prestroke spring issues a year ago and fixed that, but this is acting different. Some places say that the trans needs a rebuild, other posts seem to think that the servo's are getting worn. There are no codes in the system.

I'm no longer using the car as my daily driver and just want to be able to sell it on without the new owner having a huge problem right off the bat.

Any advice? This website is a great resource.

 

Pretty old car have you done a transmission service on it?
At least change the fluid and filter.

Yes, I did change the fluid and filter when I fixed the 3/4 prestroke spring last year. I'm wondering if it's just low on fluid so I'll try that first.

 

Yes at least check the level and post back.

Also check your shift cable and make sure it's adjusted right. You could be in-between gears if the cable has stretched a bit.
