Default How to clear error codes?

My engine fault light came on and autozone pulled one code:

P0430-catalyst efficiency below threshold bank 2.

I want to clear this to see if it is recurring, but I cannot get the code to clear... I've tried removing the negative terminal to the battery and letting the car sit for ten minutes, but when I reconnect and turn the key into position 2 or turn on the engine and leave the key in position3, the code does not clear. How do I clear the code and fault light?

Thanks

I would use a code reader like the one autozone will use. If you have an android phone check out an app called torque, it connects a bluetooth obd2 adapter to your phone to retrieve or clear codes and even get real time data

yea autozone will only scan it for you not clear it. First you should look into the problem and fix it as this is obviously an issue. To keep driving like that makes no sense and by simply clearing the code to see if it will go away you may overlook something that is inherently wrong. Second, get a Elm 327 bluetooth or cabled code scanner, they go for 10 bucks on ebay. Works great with jags, and it will erase the code hassle free. But dont be surprised when the code pops back up and you CEL comes back on.

If you have a Harbor Tools close by they sell
OBD II/EOBD Multilingual Code Scanner for around $90.00 or go to ebay you can find them quite cheap. I got mine 2 years ago off ebay for $60.00 and it reads all my cars and clears the codes..

B1242
B1946
B1265...
ABS:
U2502
U2523...
ECM:
P2135
P2582

IP:

DOES ANY of this make sense to anyone out there? The car is obviously going into limp-safe mode quite often. I'm parking the car for now. Mechanic is coming over on Thursday. Anything I need to guide him in? I live in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and I inherited this car. What am I looking at here?
Thanks!

Default Codes part II

Do I want to clear codes? Or use these codes to fix my car? It goes into limp - safe mode quite often. I thought the codes would tell me what the problems were so I could fix my car properly?

Default How long does it take to reset?

If I have fixed the issue for the check engine light , p0171 & p0174, how long does it take for the car to reset itself and the check engine light to go away?
