Default How do I do that: quick solutions topic

As i`ve seen on many other forums, there`s always a topic, where everyone can ask for help for such things that doesn`t need a separate topic, so maybe we should start something like that here (for example, those small questions as "how do I change a bulb?" or "whats the correct tire pressure", etc.)
Maybe admins can make this one sticky so it stays up and all the "small questions" are collected here, what do you guys say? If you think, that this is not a good idea, simply delete this.

Ok, i`ll start: how do I remove/change the air vents in my X300 dashboard (the ones located in the centre of the dash, above the radio and climate control)? The flaps of those vents are broken and I saw a Jaguar in a local scrapyard, so I would like to salvage these vents, but I don`t know how to correctly pull them out from the dash and what sort of tools I need for that?
Thanks!

Yeah....that already exists. It could be updated to include items such as your question on the center louvers...but I'm sure the mods, like the rest of us, only have so much time:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...k-links-20088/

Meanwhile, search is your good and true friend. That particular topic is covered in several different threads. If I have a chance, I'll edit a link in, but like I said about the mods....I only have so much time, as well. Don't neglect the large download area, where Motorcarman uploaded every X300 TSB in existence - yep, center louvers are also covered in there.

Well, pardon my curved hands then - as i`m used to the fact that almost every forum has this sort of topic sticked to the top, I somehow never even bothered myself of searching it. Will use the "search" button again for my damn broken air vents and let this topic float away in the oblivion.

Guys, quick help needed. Where can I order these trim clips? They are from trim that surrounds the headlining, and few of them are broken.
They are available on britishparts.co.uk, but goddamn expensive for that little piece of plastic, almost 2usd for one piece + shipping. I need some 10 of them.

From a previous post I made:

I was surfing Walmart.com for oils, and stumbled upon an amazing assortment of automotive clips for sale there. Literally hundreds of different types. Prices are generally low, and for a good quantity of them. Browse and you'll find all sorts of interesting little clips!

https://www.walmart.com/search/?quer...0clip&cat_id=0

I would assume these days, that they could arrange shipping to Latvia?

Are the XJR springs lower than basic XJ6 springs?
I would like to lower my car a little bit, not looking for a laying frame options, but as we all know, lowering springs are impossible to find on X300`s. I would love get a XJR springs from scrapyard.

See uprated & lowering springs here:

www.powerhouse.uk/content/jaguar-performance/jaguar-lowering-springs.php

They have an ebay shop too.

I've just bought a set for my XJR, but can't pass any comment on them yet as they will only be delivered tomorrow. Then there will be a delay until the car is back on the road.

Howitzer, Tire Rack sells a lowered spring kit for the X300. I don't know if they ship to Europe.

Aaaaaaand quick question regarding the springs again - will springs from X308 XJR fit on a X300? There`s an X308 XJR just been posted up for breaking and I could grab the springs from it, if these will fit my X300.
