How much is an XJR worth?

How much would you pay for a 1996 XJR , black, no mechanical issues, service regularly, minor wear and some scratches but no dents. No rust. 95000 miles. Tires are worn but not in dire need of replacement. If I buy this for 6500 could I get my money back when I sell it in 4 months? Not being much of a jag man, what are any easy to check things I should look out for?

I'm far from an expert, having just bought my first Jag, but for info I paid $7200 for a 1996 XJR with 106k on the clock. It is mechanically perfect (according to the inspection I had done!) with a few minor interior niggles (rear view mirror mount is faulty, the headlining is sagging in the back and the memory won't move the driver's seat).

You don't say if 6500 is $ or Â£, if it's $ it sounds like you got a better deal than I did, and I was very happy with mine!

usually a good car.. occasional.. diff noise.. and calipers seizing.. and some catalytic failures but nothing bad.. sounds like a really nice car .. id buy it
