how to replace front interior door cable?
Hello,
I have a replacement cable for my interior handle, I am unable to remove the locking mechanism to attach the new cable. I removed the four bolts holding the latch (with the window up) but it will not come out.
Thanks

The aft of the door latch assembly stays in place
You have to wander the cable in from the front until it is received in the latch assembly, it hooks in
There is a cable stay / clip that is very small and can fall into the sheet metal halves unless you stuff the holes with cloth
You can tie a piece of sewing thread on it as you reinstall the small clip
Don't be surprised if you obtained the wrong length of cable as there are a couple
A left door will work on right but a aft door will not work for a fwd door
The fwd end of the cable has a plastic clip that can break if handled aggressively
There is a screw under a plastic cap as you pull on the interior handle in the center
There is a screw under the round black rubber defog boot at the fwd point of the upper door panel
You shouldn't need to remove the lower large door panel
