Ignition coil location???

Not to be stupid but were is the ignition coil on a 97 xj6?? i need to replace it..

You have six of them. One on each plug. Remove the plastic cover from the top of the cam cover. You will see them all.

how do i tell which one is bad???and i just order what i thout was a coil that when to all six plugs

You can unplug them one at a time. The one that doesn't make a difference in the way the engine runs is bad.

Or Ken, you can have someone crank the motor as you pull each coil off the plug and stick the coil to your tongue. The one that doesnt' send you across the garage is the bad one.
