Default Instrument Cluster Fail

Hey everyone,

I have developed a serious issue with my IC.

While driving, a SRS Airbag warning light came up.
I parked the car and restart it. Now the complete IC is not working anymore, and I am getting this 'ER' on the climate control display with a beep sound.

I checked all fuses and relais, everything seems allright.

Now when I unplug the connector on the back of the IC and reconnect it everything comes alive, though the SRS Airbag warning light does not go out.
No Airbag message in the dot matrix display whatsoever.

When i turn off the ignition and start it again, no IC anymore...
I have to replug the connector to bring it back alive again.

I have looked at various posts of other members, but i cant seem to find a solution for this issue.

Can anybody help me?

I have lost my instrument panel before when I installed the battery backwards but was able to recover with a fuse that was blown . Have you tried reseating the display connectors with the battery cable off then reconnecting the battery . They are hard to install relative to the cramped installation . As you install the display connectors the timing of the electrical connections as this pin and that pin and that pin not being exact may be throwing it off if you had the battery connected . Is a ship battery Hard Reset an option ? . Is simply disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes as a easy try an option ?

Ive tried your method, without succes.

As soon as I turn off the ignition and start it again no dials/no warning lights.

Can you check the state of your battery voltage and ensure it is healthy.

If it is, can you then check that you have B+ voltage at the main +ve terminal in each of the fuse boxes.

There's a brand new battery in de boot, new alternator aswell. Each fuse box has B+ voltage.

This video shows it well what's going on.
I insert the key and turn it to the 2nd position.
I plug the small left cable from the IP and re-insert it.
Everything starts working, SRS Airbag light doesnt turn off anymore.
As soon as i turn the key to off position and restart it, the IP stays offline and I have to do the same steps again in order for it to work again.

What the hell is going on?
Do I need to find myself a new IP?

Long shot, but it could be a loose earth. I had this issue after a new stereo and speakers was installed. The earth (somewhere under the back seat or on the transmission tunnel ) was loose. Took my mechanic many expensive hours to resolve!

When a coil failure aggravates the IP it's when the engine is running. The warning lights start blinking madly and the gauge needles bounce all over the place

I think this problem is different.
