Default Interior lights/cigar lighter - no power.

Okay, so, odd problem in my '97 xj6 executive (x300).

The front interior lights (overhead ones) do not work either when the doors are opened, or by pressing the switches. The cigar lighter is also dead.

Rear interior lights work fine, as do the lights on the sun visors, and the red lights on the doors themselves.

Instrument lights work fine, and the switches all light up.

Does anyone know what might be wrong?

Thanks in anticipation!

Default Check the bulbs and

the fuses ...for starters.
Swap the bulbs in the back/front is easiest confirmation of blown bulb.
And fuses next.

Right, will check fuses and bulbs first. I guess that's pretty obvious really, the reason I didn't is that there's no power to the cigarette lighter and, given my frankly poor skills at diagnosing electrical faults I assumed it must be some module or other.

I will report back.

Many thanks for the advice.
