just wondering
hi all my question may seem silly but if ford stepped in on 95 xj6? could we not get ford parts that fit on jags? or are they ford parts with jag name on them? and why do i see alot of chevy conversions for these cars and not ford? dont get me wrong i come from a GM family i was just wondering

I think Ford's influence at the beginning had more to do with manufacturing processes and such, as opposed to actual parts. Jag was still making Jags, just more efficiently, and with better quality. The Ford-Jag connection, as far as interchangeable parts go, I don't think came to fruition until the X-type came along?
Good question about GM conversions. I would think a Ford small-block would be preferred, since the distributor is up front, and would avoid firewall issues. But, if you think about it, if you're replacing a straight 6 with a V-8, which has two banks of 4 cylinders versus one long bank of 6 cylinders, it probably wouldn't make a difference where the distributor is, unless it's a BIG V8...

I do agree with socal1200r, Jaguar factory (in UK of course) continued producing Jaguar parts, while Ford kept knocking Euro Fords (UK, Germany, Spain, and somewhere else)... And I believe they were only profit driven, when they introduced X-Type and S-Type Jags, which were supposed to be more affordable Jags... And they ended up making (X-Type) a Ford Mondeo with cat on the bonnet... Just more pimped up Mondeo...
