Default Key ignition tumbler help

I have a 1997 XJ6 VP, long style... everything is factory and working great.
Problem...
Sunday i start her up and let her warm up for 10 min here in Texas... I move the car backwards in the driveway and put it in park! Then i turn the key back to shut the car off, and i heard a crack or hop from the key tumbler area? And then the car wont turn off..... i had to pull the battery and positive lines under the bonnet to kill the motor.

The key tumbler is stuck in Accories? and will start but wont turn off.... i wen to the jag dealership and bought a new electronic ignition..... but it didnt help my problem...

Any ideas or thoughts? Replace the tumbler or Rod? tks Jake

Help cause my baby is down.....

Did you see...........

You are going to have to determine if the fault is with the LOCK BARREL, COLUMN LOCK or IGNITION SWITCH.

You are going to have to disassemble and then diagnose.

Something is broken but only disassembly can determine WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tks Bob for your reply...i have a good jag mechanic coming over on friday if the new tumbler and keys arrive?
If it is the "collum lock" what or where is it located and if its broke would that cause my ignition key not able to turn my car off?
tks Jake

If the column lock is broke will that be the cause of my ignition not turning the car off? I bought a new ignition switch which now turns the car on.... but waiting for new tumbler and keys to see if my original tumbler is broke inside?
