Lambswool mats for 97 DDS LWB - original color?
Good morning,
I've spent several days searching for and reading posts about the famous lambswool mats my 1997 Daimler Double Six is supposed to have (but doesn't). As there are very little photos of the original mats, I was not able to find the answer to two questions:
1. Aftermarket sellers offer woven wool mats as well as sheepskin mats. Which are the original ones?
2. My interior trim color is "Parchment" (exterior Spruce Green). Is it possible to know the original color of the mats or were there several choices for a buyer?
I'm compiling a list of sites that offer such mats which I'll gladly post here once it's finished. But if anyone wants to sell those mats or knows about sites that sells the original ones: Please drop me a note.
Regards
Martin

Martin,
It's going back many years but my Daimler Series II Vanden Plas had OE genuine sheepskin over mats in the same colour as the carpet. These were manufactured by Morland of Glastonbury in the UK. The same manufacturer also supplied Rolls Royce and Bentley.
I understand Morland ceased manufacturing vehicle rugs in the 1980's.
Later Jaguar/Daimler models have rugs described as 'fur fabric' which are nothing like the earlier type.
Easyrider in the UK have a very good reputation for genuine lambswool rugs:

Parchment interior means:
Parchment: Interior trim / Lower Seating, Seatbelts, Upper interior trim
Sage: Fascia, Steering wheel, gearshift assembly, carpets
Oatmeal: Roof trim, sun blinds, flange finisher.
I'm transcribing here (I have no idea what a flange finisher is) but it appears you should have sage carpets and mats. Being a Daimler, lambswool was standard and carpet rugs weren't even an option.
You can find part numbers at Lambswool Rug - Parts For XJ Series from (V)720125 to (V)812255 (X300) | Jaguar Classic Parts UK.
