Default a little help with the ac.

my 95 xjr is having some trouble with the ac. after performing an engine swap i charged the ac and it worked great.. for a week or two. it quit working so i tried to re charge it to no avail. the compressor isnt clicking on. thinking i messed up the charging i had a mechanic friend use his shops ac machine and evacuate and re full my system to the recommended amount. my ac still isnt working and ive noticed the clutch never engages on the compressor. i did the ac diagnostics test inside the car and got codes 23 and 24. 23 is the refrigerant dual pressure switch. im not sure where this is or how to check it. and 24 is face vent differential temperature controll. i dont think that one has to do with the clutch not engaging. any sugestions would help.

anybody have any suggestions? these endless 90 deg plus days with high humidity and a black on black car are killing me.. my mechanic friend tested to see if the clutch was getting power and it wasnt. hopefully that means the compressor and clutch are ok.
. i searched but couldnt find my exact issue for this car. id somebody knows of a thread on this it would help alot. thanks.

The one on my 96 is near the firewall, on one of the a/c lines, on the passenger side (US spec), in the engine compartment. It's screwed onto a schrader valve and has 4 wires coming out of it.

Ok thanks for the suggestions guys. I will try to check these things this week. Is there a good way to check this Switch? I will try to find the relay and check that. Thanks.

Just FYI - I have 1 1996 XJR. Last year the A/C line that this switch mounts on rubbed on something and wore a pinhole in it. I found one in a junkyard but it was on a 1995 XJ6. The line was the same, but the 1995 line had TWO pressure switches on it (one high/one low ?) whereas the line on my 1996 had only one. I installed the line and used only the one switch corresponding to the one I originally had, and everything's working fine. But if you have a 1995 you may need both switches to make the system happy. Just something to watch for if you're looking for a used part.
