A little "upgrade"
I had been thinking about doing something to keep my boot a little bit tidier. I have the usual bits and pieces floating around in it and thought it might be worth organising a compartment of sorts, inside the space provided by the rear wing/fender.
So, armed with an offcut of 1/4" MDF, I set about cutting a rough template from some cardboard, transferred this to the MDF, some cutting and fettling and the job is sorted. I gave the finished product a light spray with a satin black, using what was left in the can, but I intend to cover it properly with a piece of carpet, matching the interior as best as possible.
But still, I'm happy with the result and the panel just snaps into place, although Velcro strips would work if needed.

I love this idea, anything that neatly stows stuff away appeals to me. In my car the effect would be reduced as the CD stacker (factory fitted Jag original) is located in the left rear quarter cavity, leaving only a small space above it. Is this fitment unusual? Pics attached. I'm curious as it seems Jag mounted these units in different locations. I wonder of it varies by market for some reason.

I only chose the location at random, as I could just have easily created the same "compartment" on the opposite side, and may do so yet. I just have to flip the panel and see how it fits on the other side, or start from scratch and make another one. Do you have room on the opposite side?
If not, what about a panel with a cut out to access the CD stacker?

Consequently I went out and purchased a LHD and took the liberty of replicating your design:
Now it's done, I'm heading off the the Classifieds section to see if I can get my money back on the X300.

Sogood, yes I can do it on the other side which would be better than creating a more constricted compartment on the left. Also a great idea to have one both sides in your case!
My car is RHD (I haven't noticed any neg. comments from LHD owners??)
My secondary point about Jaguar's different placements for the CD stacker on X300's just has me curious.
