Default lock unlock relock over and over problem

pretty sure this didnt happen before but then again ive only had the car about a month and yet to get it on the road

we working on a 95 xj6 base model U.S.
the issue is when arming the car with the fob it locks all doors unlocks all doors and relocks i believed cycles like 3 times L,U,L,U,L,U,L finally ending on locking all doors
i noticed this after i replaced the driver inside door cable so the inner door handle would work.
also not sure if related or coincidence but the damn passenger front door stopped opening on the outside too now. which means i gotta pull the door panel on that side too and the driver door panel is already giving me hell with the shitty push pins on this car

so tldr wierd lock unlock cycle HELP thank you

My XJ6 sometimes does the same. Other times I have to push lock then unlock to get it to lock, and the reverse to lock it.

I expect thisd is a problem with the SCLM age and just put ip with it.

I had a similar lock/unlock issue, which arose also immediately after replacing the drivers door lock cable/wire. Inspection showed that the new cable was a tiny bit shorter than the original, thus, preventing the door from locking. II reverted to the original cable and problem solved.

I have red of other owners having similar issues with new/replacement cables. You might check to see that the cable is routed along the shortest, most direct route, minimising the tension on the wire. Otherwise, see if you can gain a bit of slack at the inside pull handle or lock mechanism. The difference in cable lengths is minimal, but enough to cause an issue.

I have the same problem after replacing the cable with a used from another car. Been that way for 2+ years. The lock barrel in the handle is now caved in and inop... not sure if it's from leaving it the way I left it or someone tried to brake in.
