Default Lost all power steering

I need some help diagnosing my power steering, as it suddenly went away completely as i was out driving!

my power steering pump is recently rebuilt with new seals and after opening it up again i could see nothing wrong with it.
I have brand new hoses installed, and i tried loosening them just to see if i had fluid flow from the pump with the engine running and it does appear so.
There is no change in RPM when turning the steering wheel, and unplugging the power steering control module changes nothing - it does feel quite hot to the touch though...
also tried unplugging and cleaning the plug on the steering rack, but that also did nothing.

Any suggestions what to check next?

Electrically there is a variable vehicle speed module on fwd of the left front door hinge

It varies between 9 and 12 volts to the servo on the steering rack

There should be a fuse

You can put a meter on the module sockets and see if the servo is failed but I would think the system should be fail safe and keep you steering

I'll be out for the rest of the day

Fuse looked good.
how do you measure the voltage on the module - just unplug it and stick the voltmeter into the plug? if so, do you have a pinout so i know where to stick them?

and yeah, you would think there would be some sort of failsafe to keep at least some level of power steering, but who knows - i tried a fault code read as well, but nothing showed up, even after disconnecting the module.

Red

and Slate wires , these will be DC voltage and car still 2 to 5 should read 7 volts on paper

The module needs to stay in to be powered

Unplugging the module and reading the servo you should not see infinite resistance.

See page 16 section 7 of the ZF rack repair / service manual / 7.5 ohms
