Default Lower Radiator Hose

I found a lower hose made by URO Parts for $37, is this source to be trusted for quality?

iv had some good luck wiht euro parts from rockauto. iv heard that they have some sort of contract for older car parts from jaguar or something and seem to be better quality than parts from jaguar. i just replaced the hoses on my XJS work great.

How bad is it to replace? I just ordered mine, and I think I'm not looking forward to replacing it.

It doesn't look as bad as I expected. All of the connections are are in the left front engine bay. I will be replacing the water pump, which will make access easier. I also have a hydraulic lift and that helps a lot. Just waiting for the parts, now.

Default Funny thing about bottom octupus hoses for X300 models

I bought what I thought was a cheap bottom hose from the UK it leaked between the 2 layers of rubber where the fibre is
As I live in Australia I took the car to my specialist he told me the cheap hoses are problems he then installed a new genuine hose at a fairly hefty price week later it did exactly the same thing only difference I didn't have to pay for the 3rd hose
Made me think that the genuine hoses must have came from the same supplier
If I had been in the UK where I bought the hose from I would have had a warranty claim but as I bought the hoses from an overseas supplier no warranty just my 2 cents worth
Funny thing I replaced all my hoses belts and pulleys at the same time purchasing them from the US the octopus hose on LHD cars is different so I bought it from a UK supplier my car being RHD
I have had no problems with any of the other hoses pulleys or belts
Again made me think the genuine hoses and knock off,s must have came from the same manufacturer because they had the same fault both de-laminating

My lower hose goes in today. Made by URO and I don't want to have to replace it again. Quality is getting to be a problem, look at the ignition coils and XK8 fuel pumps.

Disappointing news. For ages I've used genuine OEM Jaguar labled hoses because they always seemed to be higher grade than the aftermarket offerings.

Cheers

The cooling system is back together and no leaks.....so far. The next project is to replace the radiator mounts, which are totally missing. I started to remove the first T40 cap screw from the retainer and broke the socket while using a breaker bar on it. So that one had to be ground off.
Tomorrow I'll try a better quality socket, but I don't understand why the fasteners should be so tight on a rust- free car. Using Blaster on it tonight.
