Default More work than its worth?

Hello, new member here. The last post I did. I got somewhere. So I'm hoping I get somewhere on this issue(s) as well.

97 VDP 4.0 107K, my issue is I have no auto locks, the button does not work in key positions 2 and 3. I turn the key in the door (from what I read) to lock the doors I get nothing. I have a schematic for the relays, but its for a 95. Are they the same? It says its the LH (driver side) rear kick panel, 2 different "half" relays. Just curious where to start on this matter?

I also have non working marker lights, fog lights, and signal lights in the front. I read that there was a connector on both sides that needed to be pulled apart and cleaned up. Well bad news is the person who owned it prior to me cut the connector right out and electrically taped them together. The question here is can this work? I would assume so if they were properly crimped together. But anyone have a wire to wire schematic? The wires change color at the plug connection.

I've repaired the fuel pump driver seat module and I'm wondering as I keep going what else will I find. I noticed the windshield washer light was on and I was having a hell of a time finding the reservoir. Come to find out its not there, its gone, so I need one of those as well. Ebay has just 1 but I'm not willing to pay 129 for it.

Any helpful hints would be great. Thanks!

I have one key, and no key fob either.

Some have rigged plastic bottles of various kinds to serve as washer fluid reservoirs. Also, search on it....seem to recall someone found a washer bottle from a Chrysler or Japanese make would fit...I just don't remember the exact car, but think plenty were available for cheap in the wrecking yards.

There should be plenty of space in the right front corner to work with.

All of your issues are nothing more than "niggles" or irritations. They can be sorted, with a little time and patience. The various schematics are available on this forum to download, along with a ton of other useful information.

Then work through things, one by one. As long as your car starts, runs and stops, all is well and everything else is fixable. many electrical gremlins are down to dirty contacts, bad earths or suspect microswitches. as soon as you start sorting things, it will reward you with the best feelgood factor.

Don't despair!!

I totally agree with you. I love fixing cars up and making them my own. This is not my daily driver. I just am particular about my vehicle. Its a really pretty car and I was thinking about just giving it to my mother, (she wants a convertible so that probably won't happen) I like a good buy when I see it. Just this was a "It needs a fuel pump and some tie rods". It seems to need everything electrical you could throw at it. Just by going through it. When you buy a car that isn't running that's the chances I guess you can take.

As for the locks I'm not sure where to start. They are just completely dead. You would think something would work or should I just assume its the Security locking module?

The marker/fog lights I ordered used wire looms on Ebay with the plug hoping to find the other ends and splice it in.
