Sorry, I don't mean to hijack but there is a current issue for me regarding photography and the iPhone SE2. I bought mine last April to replace my iPhone SE.

The SE2's camera is adding artefacts to my photos when shooting into the light source. Also does it at night under artificial light. Anyone else seeing this from their cellphone cameras? I asked Apple and they told me to expect it from all iPhones from model 7 up, but I don't remember seeing this in older iPhones and certainly not in any real camera.

And re: your animation. Classical in the stop-motion-photography sense? I have a Canon 514XL in very good condition if you're into Super8 lol.

Cant help you with your camera lens flare - thats just how lenses work when you point them towards a strong light source

I actually have an old super 8 camera that i used to lug around as a hip young student, but these days film is too expensive, and lots of the old chemicals needed for developing the old films are long gone and unavailable.

And classical, as in drawn animation - you can see some stuff here, though i dont update it too often:

(i did manage to sneak in an XJR in a commercial i made for a tollbooth operator recently )

Very cool stuff Bjarne!

But I'm still vexed by the green spots on my photos. That's not an ordinary flare, and I haven't seen it with other cameras/lenses. Pretty sure the sensor is generating this.

it might look different from what you usually associate with a lens flare, but you are pointing the camera towards a strong light source, and getting a reflection inside the lens.
If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck - its probably a duck

i would just use photoshop or something similar to remove it if it ruins your photos, or just reposition to avoid it in the first place.

Bjarne, are you really saying that I have to adjust my way of taking photographs, and letting Apple off the hook for selling a camera that makes flares I've never seen before? That's really my point here--Apple used to move tech forward.

Well yes! any camera would give you a lens flare in that situation - you are taking a direct photo of the sun!
the only way to get rid of it is to make a auto-retouch function similar to the red-eye remover that identifies lensflares and tones down the color, or have ventablack colored internal baffles or something

Nah, I'll be more careful about buying cameras and asking for advice. Thanks.

found an example in the photos i took the other day - you can clearly see the small flare move and finally slighlty, and then finally disappear after i angle it a bit down for each shot.

but i guess thats it - no more lens flare discussions

but it is time for some other lens related talk - headlight washing!
mine were looking a bit dirty and hazy, so i decided to clean them.
pretty simple job really, and it got even easier once i learned you could remove the chrome bezel first, for easier removal of the lens.
cleaned it all out using koch chemie green star, and rinsed it out using some battery water.
a quick dab with the metal polish and some wax and they came out looking resplendent.
