Hi all, I was looking at my 96 XJ6 and there is a rubber tube hanging down behind the right rear wheel below the trunk. Looks like it might be a drain tube of some sort, but I am not sure. Any ideas?

 

From memory, yeah, sounds right, I think it's the drain tube wich goes from the antenna, which should be just above it

 

I believe there are 3 of those; 1 for the power antenna and 2 for the sunroof drain

 

Unless you don't have sunroof, then it leaves only one tube

 

What about the battery vent?

 

wouldn't that be lower and closer to the front of the wheel, rather than behind it?

 

There is also one for the fuel filler recess, I only know because just after I got mine I went for fuel and the recess was full of water.

Found the rubber filter in the corner took it out gave it a good clean and no more swimming pool around the filler neck.
