Default Need new tires

I need new tires on my 1995 XJ6. I'm considering BFGoodrich Advantage T/A - 225/60R16 98V BW - All Season Tire

Has anyone outfitted their X300 with this tire?

I'm also considering the General Altima HP.

My budget for installed cost is $600, which puts each tire at a $125 max before installation.

Thoughts?

I had Toyo 225/60 x 16s on my car a year ago and they were great - I would recommend them. I don't know the price in the USA

I bought a pair of Falken Sincera over a year ago. $80 and no complaints so far.

gator joe,

I just put a new set of pirelli tires on my 1997 XJ6 last month
225/60/16 p7 Cintrato? they are good tires with grip on the dry and wet..and they arent that expensive? I bought this set and a set for my corvette on ebay from Discount tires...free shipping fast delivery and cheaper than the store? They said they are 2 different companies for pricing. so try that route....
make sure your shocks are good as well.... it makes all the difference on the front end as well...
cheers

I recently bought a set of Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus tires. Quiet and comfy ride with decent roadholding wet or dry. $450 mounted and balanced.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I reviewed all of them and all had their merits. Ultimately I ordered the BF Goodrich tires that were the frontrunner, although I strongly considered the P7.

Thanks again.

I just scored a set of Falken FK-452 for my XJR @ $55 per tire. Check out tires-easy.com

I'm seriously considering the P7's for my VDP. I have two good P4000e's and two good P4000 Super tourings on another car (96 XJ6) but they are old. I tend to think the P7's may be what I want on the VDP. Do you have any flat spotting/ vibration issues with those tires? Do you let the car sit for long lengths of time?

We used to put the P4000e's on all the 225/60/16 setups at my old dealerships and they were okay. I hope the P7 is a better tire. What does the tire look like mounted? Do they look skinny or do they seem to fit better? What was on it before?

Sorry for the questions but it's a tough choice.

It hasn't moved much since I fitted them. I haven't noticed any flat spotting so far but I'll report back when the suspension clunks have been fixed!

It had P6000s on when I bought it and I put Michelin Primacy on the front as I got a really good deal on them. Thought long and hard about putting Michelin on the back to match but in the end I figured it wasn't worth the extra just to get the sidewalls to match. The P7 looked good spec wise and was reasonably priced.
