Default No lock doors with FOB

Hi guys, I'm Víctor, from Barcelona.

I've an XJ6 X300 manual gearbox and I cannot lock the doors with the FOB and I can do from button inside neither.

I can close with key but alarm is not turned on, I'm sure because I try to open the trunk pressing the button and nothing happens.

The button to open and close the doors from inside is working because I can open the doors pressing but I can't close.

May be roof sensors fail?

May be just the batteries inside the fob that needs changing? Do the lights on the fob, (green and red) flash when you press the corresponding button? If not, or if they look weak, then try new batteries. This is the simplest and cheapest fix to try first. Just ensure that you replace the batteries in the right direction/position. It takes two and you only have to pry the fob apart to access them.

Hi sogood,

I've always though that if FOB can open then batteries are OK. And (most important) close and open inside button (close to warning button) not close the doors... so I think that batteries are OK sogood, but really thanks for your help

When I press close button it makes a beep, the same beep when I open the doors.

Sounds like it 'thinks' a door (or the bonnet/boot) is open (or the key is still in the ignition, but I don't think this fits your description). Sorry, not quite clear on what the symptoms are!

Is the little flap on the ignition barrel closing properly? Do the interior lights come on when you open each door? Do the boot lights come on (and switch off) properly? And are any of the symptoms any different with the bonnet up / boot open / each door open?

Mmm, these are some great ideas to check in my Jag. I'm going to check it on Wenesday maybe. I'll let you know about my test.

Thanks
