No start condition
Hi,
First I want to say that my battery is fine.
When I open any door nothing lights up at all. When I turn the key the lights on the dashboard illuminates (not the ones from putting on the headlights but rather the idiot lights) but when I turn the key all the way the starter does not start. Since the interior lights went out at the same time as the starting issue started, I do not think the starter is bad.
I checked every fuse and they are all fine--I checked the 2 fuse boxes under the hood, the 2 fuse boxes under my back seat and the fuse box in the boot.
I am hoping that this is just a bad relay. I will start checking that now but am hoping that someone can point me to the relay(s) I should check or if I should check something else out.
Thanks

Hi jomo,
These sorts of no-crank issues are frustrating, but they are usually not too difficult to track down with a little patience. You can download the Electrical Guide at the link below, which shows the wiring schematics for the starter circuit and interior lighting circuits.
As Qvhk mentioned, the BPM is a nexus of those circuits. The ignition switch is also common to both circuits and is another known failure point. You can test it with an ohmmeter at its electrical connector inside the steering column cowl. Also, both the BPM and ignition switch connect to the left-hand console ground stud, so it would be worth checking for looseness or corrosion on the stud and its connected eyelet terminals. There may be other ground points common to both circuits.
Problems with the battery power connections are common, especially at the three bulkhead connections. Check to ensure they are clean of all corrosion and tight. Also, there are "ignition positive" relays in at least three of the fuse boxes, so if any of those are part of the starter and interior lighting circuits they would be suspect.

My findings on ignition Switch : Jaguar part # LNA6507BA
By removing connector FC54 9 inches straight forward of switch found ground pin 5 contaminated , cleaned
The pin side of the connector pops off the bracket straight down to be able to hold in free space .
Black wire socket position 5 to ground = 0
.........On the pin side of the connector :
Black wire pin position 5 to pin 1 key position 2 = 50 ohms Run position
Black wire pin position 5 to pin 2 key position 1 and 2 = 0 ohms Acc position
Black wire pin position 5 to pin 3 key position 3 = 30 ohms and bad large waver as moving key radially ( needs replacing later ) Starter
Black wire pin position 5 to pin 4 key insert = o ohms , key removal = open ohms this is the security ECU input
Something is not right here as pin 1 should be starter

I got the car started! I was a bit nervous as nothing that was mentioned in this thread really helped, although I really appreciated your support.
The other day I hit this huge pothole (I guess I should not drive with my daughter as she can distract me so easily) and thought nothing about it as all seemed ok right afterwards. What I found was a disconnected plug under my dashboard. As soon as I reconnected it the dome light illuminated and I knew that all was ok. I then easily started the car.
What a relief.
Thanks for all your help.
