Default P0460 After changing sending unit?

Replaced the mechanical float in the tank yesterday and the fuel gauge still makes its way back up to full slowly but surely. Whats the next item it could be? This is the only reason I'm failing inspection and now its becoming frustrating because its only emissions inspections in NJ,but if you have a check engine light on its an automatic failure.Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My advice would be leave Jersey and never look back...
(Sorry, didn't know the fuel quantity sending unit could set the MiL) Don't have the documents loaded on this computer...have you looked up possible causes of P0460?

Code P0460 Fuel level sense circuit malfunction. I looked up the code in the DTC summary doc. I would check the wiring between the sensor and the instrument cluster. Apparently it is triggered by an "open circuit, a short circuit to ground, or B+ voltage". I'd put my money an a frayed wire touching the chassis somewhere.
