I will finally get a chance to try some of these ideas and work on the Jaguar today

Wasn't the spark plugs or coils. Cleaned and lubed both plugs as mentioned. Swapped relays as mentioned. Checked vac line at fuel pressure reg as mentioned. All were good. Crank sensor had build up including a tiny piece of metal. Swapped it along with the other changes. Runs out perfect now. And NO, no trans issues or damage from anything.....lol.....revving in neutral....... Don't really care what the actual cause was but in my determination it was a dirty crankshaft position sensor

The metal debris would mess up the flux lines from the reluctor teeth to the inductor sensor face . As the rotational speed increases the output wave form signal is indistinguishable to get a count per unit of time as it gets tighter . Good find .

The Shrapnel, could definitely cause the issue, as Lady P says it has to have a clear signal.

Did the sensor last but the minute I saw that it was dirty and had a tiny piece of what looked like "mechanics wire" stuck to it, I knew it had to be the culprit. Thanks everyone!
