hello again all< my 96 x300 power steering is whining. i also have a leak somewhere i think. when the car is on the steering works ok but i get a whine on both sides when i turn. another thinh is while the car is running, the fluid stays in the canister but when i turn it off it comes spewing out of the small hole in the resevoir cap thus emptying it out. it was fine a few days ago before we got the snow storm here in ct. my car was left on the street and the plow truck practically buried my car and packed snow all underneath the vehicle, now i dont know if they damaged something but when i finally dug myself out the next day it started making that whining noise and i started to lose fluid. again, the only spillage i see is coming from that cap. could i plug that hole or would that be dangerous and also, do you think that i may need a new pump or would draining the system and refilling with an additive help the noise?? please help!!
