Default question regarding alarm status indicator light

feel like I have a lot of questions atm.
I have searched everywhere but cannot find the answer.
and am unable to check for myself due to not having a working FOB.
(have a workaround in place)

when the car is locked and alarmed the little red light on the dash should flash.
what exactly triggers this?
my light does not flash.
(i have custom switches and lights inplace due to my stereo install involving removing the clock however my light did not flash before this either when it was still original.)

does the light flash and blink when the car is locked / unlocked with the key?
or does it only do so when done with the remote?
does it happen when you deadlock the car with the key? (unlock then lock)

i assume that when locking the car with the key the alarm does not try and activate.
my reasoning for thinking this is that i can lock with the key (or my remote that simulates a key being used) whilst a door or boot is open and the car will lock the doors no problem with no alarm warning or anything

*i know the light i have wired in on my custom aux switch panel works as when i put the car into programming mode the light flashes as the sounder chirps.

my drive away locking i think is turned off as it doens't work. so either off or broken.

interesting that security system is marked as option.
and given intrusion sensors are standard with security system,
and further to that every car i have seen here does not have the intrusion sensors that indicates that most cars here do not have the security system. which is interesting.

you would think on a $100k+ car that people would pay for the security option.

also interesting it says central locking will only take place when all doors are closed yet i know i can lock my car when doors are open.
but i know my doors correctly trigger the door ajar sensor due to courtesy light and dashboard indicator.

I assume if wanting to upgrade and install the intrusion sensors and tilt sensor one would need to also get a SCLM that came from a car that had them to make them work.
lets say hypothetically one did get those ancillaries and a matching SLCM (finding right part number one might be annoying).
would one need to replace keys and locks also? and immobilizer transponder to the ones that match the SLCM?

just a wild thought

also no need to answer. i have kinda asked this question before.....
