Default Rad light stays on all the time

The Icon at the bottom right side stays on all the time the system is full of water so I was wondering where the sensor for it is located.

It's a 1997 XJR 6 cylinder...Thanks

You're in the wrong forum; this is '98+ XJ8/XJR - probably get much better response in the correct XJ6 one.

Your car is an X300 series, so that is your forum... the 98+ XJ's are X308's.

You need to start a new thread, not hijack on the end of an existing, unrelated one.

Well, after reading through all of the above filth, I have an answer to the original question! On the far side, partially underneath the reservoir for the coolant, is where the sensor 'should' be. If it has fallen out (which is quite a possibility), the sensor is very thin, white/off white, 2-3 inches long. I also believe that it has an orange base. If it's not in the reservoir, hopefully you can find it.

Just be careful removing the sensor! It can be ****ly. Check the wiring connection first of course. Then I would pull the expansion tank off and work it out with care. I had one where the plastic covering came loose and just needed to be dried and glued on again.

Cheers!

Wow. It censored a harmless word! Rhymes with wiggly and starts with an "N".

Cheers!
