re front wing /fender removal
Hi all I am finally taking my XJR to get the front wing/fender repaired next Monday after hitting the front gate post last year
I would love to have some photos or diagrams to give to the panel-beater as he has never done a jaguar before
I thought someone on the forum must have some pics lying round on how to take of the front wing/fender and bumper bar as well also any ideas on how to put the side mirror back together last week as I was driving I hit a bird and it knocked the side mirror which made the plastic cover come of as well as dislodging the mirror itself didn't break anything
Looks like it will all clip back together but some pics or diagrams would help
thanks in advance

The wings bolt on, and the bumper hangs off two 'towers' which stand forward off the front of the car. The nuts/bolts in the towers are a weird mix of metals (alu and something - I forget) so they will likely have seized. I removed the towers from the car with the bumper attached and then (destructively) removed the towers from the bumper. New towers aren't too pricey. You'll need the bumper off to remove the chrome as it's secured with screws from behind.

I took my wing off last weekend to replace it an also repair the front of the sill. I was lucky in that I managed to undo the two bolts number 3 above with a long bar they were stiff but nothing broke. The bolts are easily seen under the front of the bumper. Once these ate undone unplug the wiring conector on each side and slide the bumper off forwards, it is not heavy. Remove the wheel arch liner by pulling the centres out of the plastic tags. The wing has two bolts inside on the A pillar and one inside to the sill, the others ate all obvious. Be aware that some may snap due to corrosion, so a drill tap and suitable new bolts are a wise precaution.
