Default Rearview Mirror - going postal

My MY97's rearview mirror is starting to get "foggy" in some spots, starting near the lower right corner and creeping towards the middle of the lens. Is this a slow death I'm witnessing? Must the entire mirror be replaced or just the lens?

It's slowly going to continue turning into a lava lamp. You must replace the whole thing. I may have a used one. I would need to know the color of the electric plug and the number of wires. Also, do you have map lights?

If you don't feel the need for the darking feature, The old lens can be used as a pattern for a plain mirror lens. Done that.

You should do something right away. My XJ6 mirror leaked out some of the fluid and permanently stained the wood on the console.

That explains the mystery "goo" spot by the shifter! [sm=insomnia.gif] EGADS

Well I don't want a used one then, if it's age that causes it!

Car's been in the shop for two days...local Jaguar dealer sent wrong rearview mirror, as I expected they would. Wheels needed rebalancing, telescoping steering motor was replaced, there is a mysterious oil leak. BUT I still love driving the car. Wish I could find nice new wheels for it!
