Default Replaced the pump but it won't idle

My 1996 XJ6 has been sitting for about a year due to fuel pump issues. I have finally gotten the time to deal with it...so far I replaced the pump
but it won't idle so I change the air idle valve and the crank sensor but still no luck. I had a set of after market coils which I installed with new plugs
but same problem.....help

Welcome to the forum Lenny,

I've moved this post from your Intro thread for advice from members with the same model.

If the issue was truly the fuel pump and was replaced as the fuel pump fails it will damage the fuel pump relay

Causing arching of the power contacts in the relay it will not carry the proper current for a new pump motor

You can swap it with the Acc relay which is the inboard most relay in the trunk

The pins and sockets on the connector at the pump motor itself can also get burnt

Fuel injector cleaner ?

Old fuel in the tank ?
