Replacing Fuel Tank Sensor
Finally getting around to replacing the sensor in the fuel tank. Got the level down to around five gallons. Only question is do I need to use a sealant on the rubber gasket or use it dry. Having a fuel leak would not be fun.

But maybe someone else has something to say in contradiction in this scenario.
No sealer or gasket cement.
Most install them dry. Personally, I give it misting of aerosol silicone so that when the retainer turns against the seal it (the retainer) will slide, not grab.....reducing the (already slim) chance of tearing it or shifting it out of place.

I'd leave it dry putting anything on it to make the ring slide will tend to push the rubber seal outwards. Rule of thumb if it's rubber leave it dry know matter were you are using it..
