Retrofitting electric & heated seats to X300
Hi all, my ‘96 XJ6 has manual, non heated seats. I’ve seen a parts car advertised which has heated seats in the right colour, so I’d be tempted to swap those in as I like to try and retrofit optional extras to all my cars.
If I buy the seats and the control panel switches, are these plug and play with existing wiring or will I need to get any additional electrical components too?
Second question, can the heating elements be added to my manual seats? I prefer manually adjustable seats, so if I can keep these as they are that would be preferable.
Thanks!

Apart from seat and switched, You'd just need the extra loom cable under seat(plug hidden under carpet), manual seats either don't have it or have a thin version of that cable. You'd also need to make sure the seats have seat modules(doesn't matter if memory or non memory ones, both will work).
I fitted heated passenger seat for Mrs in my car.

Thanks for that info, very useful. Will my car have a plug under the carpet ready to connect to the loom you mentioned? And where are the seat modules located?
You're going to have to fish it from that hole, the plug is there under carpet, also there is a ground cable bolted to the tunnel.
Seat modules are under the seat, attached to the seat itself.
