Default shifter bezel light

i was wondering if the lights around the shifter "p,r,n etc... should light up? it lights up red to let me know what gear you're in, but the other lights not. Also should the transmission selector switch light up? s/n Whats wrong if mine doesn't?

Yup. Here's a pic:

It's a tiny little bulb in a rubber bulb holder. Radio Shack has 'em. A dab of blue or green paint on the bulb will be needed for the right glow, if you are concerned.

Hmmm. Now I'm second guessing myself about the "rubber bulb holder" part. I might be confusing it with another bulb somewhere else. In any case, it's all obvious and easy once you dig in.

The sport/normal switch can be disassembled (er...pry it open, carefully) and the bulb replaced. It's a little "grain of wheat" bulb. Radio Shack.

That might be the one with the rubber bub holder I was thinking of.
