transmission light
So started up my car today, when down the road about half mile, and my car shuts off on me and the trans light pops up. Then about 10-15miles later is shuts off again. There was no fourth gear as well.
The day before, it ran a real high idle, after getting off the highway. i would let off the gas and the car would go down the road shifting gears without me even touching the gas. After a while the idle would settle down.
Went to go scan it, and no codes and the light isnt on.
Any ideas?

Just out of curiosity try this (I had a similar problem with the TPS). Disconnect the battery for 15 minutes then reconnect it again. Doing this does a few things:
-Clears codes that really don't need to be there but popped up anyway
-Resets the computers on board
Granted you will have to re do your radio stations and clock but if it clears it, no problem right?
As for finding a cheap TPS sensor (if this doesn't work), I would suggest maybe finding a junk yard or something cause those pups seem to run close to 2 bills.
