Default Shifter cable

I have a 1996 x300 and I need a shifter cable or advice as to free it up. New are made out of unobtainable and not to be found. X300 ones are getting hard to find. Is there one from another model that would work from an xj6 newer or older. I have done a search and came up with nothing. Any help or advice would be greatly appriciated. Thanks

same thing happened to my 96, the protective boot gets cut and allows weather in. i cleaned it up as much as i could and lubed it up with wd40 and worked it back and forth till free. then used bearing grease to seal it up. worked good for a few years till i sold it.

Thank you for the reply. I've got a cable from an xj8. It does have different ends, but I think I can adapt it to work. Except for the attachment points at shifter and transmission it's the same. Just have to find some small ball end studs and it will work.
