Default Sovereign 4.0 throttle return spring

I'm very happy with my recently acquired Sovereign 4.0.
Changeg all fluids, filters, new plugs, belts and put a non original radio cd for travelling

It goes great, but I'm having trouble with the well documented sticky throttle.

Revs stay up after releasing the pedal. A kind of annoying and unwanted cruise control.
The Throttle body has alreday been cleaned but this hasn't changed things. The return spring throttle should be changed too but I am having difficulties in finding one in Spain.

Does anyone know where I could get a throttle spring, PLEASE?

I have seen people use the AJ6 throttle return spring (the additional external one) fitted to the XJ40. It can be used as a 'helper-spring' but it might increase the pedal pressure required to open the throttle.

You can use the existing spring around the spindle by straightening the end and wrapping the spring one extra winding. Cut off the extra length that interferes with tucking it in. I have used this method when the updated spring was inadequate at keeping the throttle closed or the updated spring was unavailable.

Make sure yours had the R493 recall performed as well. Any dealer can check your VIN.

Thanks everybody for your advice.

Ref recall. I've tried to get the history of he car on a jaguar dealership but they did only confirm when was the last time the vehicle was on a dealership. They wont tell me about the rest of the records cause it goes against data protection law.

It really is amazing how a company can loose brand followers by being stupid at the dealership. BTW i'm certain that if I was to maintain the car at the dealer, I could get the info I need,

You may have to ask the question a little differently... you aren't asking for the service history of the car when owned by previous owners, you are asking if your VIN has any outstanding recalls not performed.

This shouldn't violate any privacy laws, and this data follows the car, not the previous owners and is a safety issue mandated by most countries.

If you can't get it from the dealer, call Jaguar directly. They can look it right up.
