Default Speaker size for 95 XJ6?

My speakers are pretty blown so I'm looking to get some replacement speakers, but the only problem I have right now is finding out which size of speakers to get. 5.25 or 6.5? I've seen conflicting claims, so I figured who better to ask than other people who have XJ6s.

Your help as always is very much appreciated.

Thank you very much!

Awesome! I was kind of worried too because the speaker grills are only like 5" in diameter. I was looking into getting a couple pair of nice coaxial speakers.

Also, do you have an amp or are you just running those speakers from your headunit?

The Jaguar speakers are something like $35 a piece so I never bother to try to bodge some other size into the hole. If you just want to replace then the factory ones are fine. If you want to upgrade to some high watt or something then there is a discussion.

just sayin'

So i just wired them direct, i have a subwoofer and amp for the subwoofer in my trunk. I purchased a wiring \fascia kit off ebay so its plug and play and it looks great and works perfectly! Gotta say when you upgrade you notice the difference. the only thing i would recommend is that whatever speakers you get, make sure they are shallow depth because if not you may run into issues with the window hitting the back of the speaker. check crutchfield to confirm fitment, they are good with that stuff even on jags!

Not sure how you fitted at 6x5. It's actually made for 5.25, and even those are a pain to remove and replace.

My readings and the fact that I've bought the 5-1/4 (way too small) and the 6-12 (slightly too big, show that they have some off-sized 6-inch speakers. I'd go bigger and get a pro to install. Bigger equals fuller sound capability anyhow....

I installed 6 1/2 size Polk audio mm speakers. You can get it to fit. The 5 1/4-1/2 is too small.
I've been thinking of putting the door speakers on the outside of the door panel due to the lack of sound quality it produces.

The speaker size is 6 inch not 5.25.or 6.5 these are what I use they have a reasonable bass sound and are fairly sensitive (I.E. check dB rating at 1 watt per meter) so don't need a massive amount of power to get sound out of I have replaced all four JL Audio TR600-CXi 6" Evolution TR 2-way Car Speakers

The factory speakers are rubbish as is the factory sound system okay if you like listening to a High powered transistor radio

I also use this amp with it Rockford Fosgate PBR300X4 300W RMS 4-Chan Class D Punch Amplifier

This is the head unit I use no CD player as I just leave one of my many I pods I get from frequent flyer miles Alpine Electronics of Australia
and this sound processor Alpine PXA-H100 IMPRINT™ Audio Processor Tunes your Alpine receiver to your vehicle's acoustics at Crutchfield.com
I am reasonably happy with the system the size of the speakers is a problem tying to actually get some bass response out of a 6 inch speaker is problematic but refuse to cut holes in this car instead I have 4 of these Amazon.com: Aura AST-2B-4 Pro Bass Shaker: Electronics
I am going to install them this year some time see how they go don't want a sub-woofer they rattle the car to pieces
