Default Substitutes for ABS Wheel Sensor

Are there any known substitutes for the front ABS Wheel Sensors? I believe my right front (passenger's side) is dying, but I don't want to spend $500 for a new one, and I don't want to chance a used one, since they'll be just as old as my dying sensor.

Do I have any options, even if I have to Frankenstein something up?

Thanks.

Are you sure it is the sensor dying, rather than contamination of the reluctor ring?
These sensors are very basic, and involve no moving parts and no physical contact. The toothed reluctor ring on the hub passing very close to the magnetic head of the sensor produces a signal which the ABS system uses to determine speed of rotation. If the reluctor ring has become contaminated with grease of brake dust, or has become rusty, it can affect the signal, upsetting the ABS

Vee,
Only just spotted it is your post. A coincidence to be talking about dirty sensors again so soon! Good luck with it. I have heard of Audi substitutes for the rear sensors, but I dont know if the front ones are the same.
