Default sunroof compatibility with 98 xj8?
Anyone know if the 98 xj8 sunroof assembly fit/operate with my 96 XJ6/VDP?

It should as it is the same body with slight variations, the roof not being one of them

As Brutal stated....
ALL the sliding roof parts are interchangeable for the X300/X308.
